After years of development, Emacs and its users such as me are all satisified by the ugly Icon and old style outlook designs. After years of use, I always thinks some design of sublime is not essential. Vi users should think I just use terminal vi. However, no matter how we argue that Emacs’s friend and enermy is vi. People always think Emacs not friendly and not so cool like other editors, such as sublime, atom and even bracket.

I even think emacs don’t need to be updated becaus every edition is similar. However, it seems that 25.1 version have change my idea that emacs will be more modern and more beautiful in next decade or next 40 years.

The Icon changed to a more beautiful design and the official site has changed as well. It will introduce people to discovery and try the Emacs through Emacs Rocks and that is actually not the style of Emacs. I am getting used read some boring document. That feeling just like tha an old people finaly published an advertisement to say ‘Hey, I am so cool’.

Emacs is so cool in version 25.1 in its 40 years old ceremony, I hope it will keep cool in next 40 years.
